Switching a PRO Camera from Ignition Wire Back to OBD

Overview

This article explains how to reconfigure a PRO camera that is currently set up to use an ignition wire so that it returns to using OBD as its ignition source.

Procedure

Step 1: Access the Vehicle Settings

1. Log in to Nexus.

2. Select the appropriate company.

3. Navigate to Vehicles.

4. Select the desired vehicle.

5. Open Internal Settings.

6. Select Settings.

Step 2: Update the Ignition Source Setting

1. Locate the setting named IGNITION_WIRE_INSTALLED.

2. Change the value of the setting to 0.

3. Select Save.

4. Once the changes have been saved, select Resend All Settings to ensure the configuration is sent to the camera.

Step 3: Complete the Ignition Cycles

1. Take the vehicle through two complete ignition cycles.

2. During these first two ignition cycles, allow the device to receive and apply the updated settings.

3. On the third ignition cycle, use OBD only.

Verification

To confirm that the camera has successfully switched back to OBD:

1. During the third ignition cycle, observe the camera while it is booting up.

2. Verify that "OBD" is displayed in the bottom-left corner of the device screen.

If "OBD" is displayed, the camera has successfully reverted to using OBD as its ignition source.

Expected Result

• The setting IGNITION_WIRE_INSTALLED is set to 0.

• The camera receives the updated configuration after the required ignition cycles.

• The device displays "OBD" during boot-up, confirming that OBD is now being used as the ignition source.
