Overview

The Extended Video feature is designed to extract over-the-air (OTA) camera footage based on a specific GPS point uploaded into the GPS tracker. This article outlines the prerequisites and conditions necessary for the feature to function effectively in real-time.

 Prerequisites for Real-Time Footage Extraction:

To ensure successful extraction of camera footage, the following conditions must be met:

1. Footage Age Restriction:

   - The footage must not be older than 24 hours from the time of driving.

   - If the camera does not have network connectivity, the footage recorded on the SD card will become irretrievable after 24 hours.

2. Camera Power Status:

   - The camera from which the video is to be extracted must be powered on.

3. Network Connectivity:

   - The camera must have a network connection of at least 3G with a minimum of 3 bars of signal strength.

   - If the camera is in a location where it cannot be moved, you can still request the video. The request will be added to a queue and will be uploaded to the IRIS system once the network connection improves.

   - This queue mechanism also applies if the camera is currently off.

4. GPS Data Availability:

   - The route for which you are requesting video footage must have GPS data.

   - Videos are extracted from GPS points sent by the camera. If the route has missing GPS points, contact iDrive Support for assistance.

 Steps for Extracting Footage:

To extract camera footage using the Extended Video feature, follow these steps:

1. Verify Footage Age:

   - Ensure that the footage you need is within the 24-hour limit.

2. Check Camera Status:

   - Confirm that the camera is on and functioning properly.

3. Assess Network Connection:

   - Check the network signal strength. If the signal is weak (less than 3 bars or below 3G), the footage request will be queued.

4. Confirm GPS Data:

   - Verify that the route has complete GPS data. If any GPS points are missing, contact iDrive Support.

Troubleshooting:

If you encounter issues during the footage extraction process, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

- Footage Older Than 24 Hours:

  - Unfortunately, footage older than 24 hours cannot be retrieved. Ensure timely requests for footage extraction.

- Camera Not Powered On:

  - Make sure the camera is on and has a stable power source.

- Weak or No Network Connection:

  - If the camera's network signal is weak, relocate it to a better signal area if possible, or wait for the signal to improve for queued requests.

- Missing GPS Data:

  - If the GPS data is incomplete, reach out to iDrive Support to resolve the issue.

Contacting Support:

For additional assistance, you can contact iDrive Support through the following channels:

By following the guidelines and troubleshooting steps provided in this article, you can effectively use the Extended Video feature to extract the required OTA camera footage.
