When mounting, there should always be a person on the driver seat and everything should be positioned as if they are driving (seat, steering wheel, anything else that may be needed)
The camera should be positioned no higher than the mouth/nose of the driver but above the steering wheel. Always confirm with the driver that the height of the camera does not bother them
If there are “conflicts” and you cannot have all things (you CAN have one, but that means you CANNOT have the other) you pick the best option and inform why that position was selected
The camera has to be able to see at least a portion of the torso of the driver so it can detect the seatbelt.
This should be possible without blocking the drivers view of the road
The camera should be positioned on the center of the windshield (based on dimensions, not on opinions); if it cannot see the seatbelt, or maybe a part of the door, we can try moving the camera more toward the driver but no more than 10 cm; never move it to the opposite side of the driver compared to the center of the windshield
Confirming the position should be done via an event uploaded to Nexus; ask the installer (or who else is the representative of the client) if they can connect to the camera and get a video via the mobile app; if that cannot be done, use the Live Telematics
The camera should not be mounted permanently before getting the ok from the Idrive team; make sure with the technician that they only use no more than 2-3 mm from the adhesive tape
